01General Information
This website is operated by PHENIX JVT LTD, trading as PHENIX Car Rentals, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus under registration number HE 331694, with its registered address at Tombs of the Kings Ave 26, Shop 6, 8046 Paphos, Cyprus.
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and the online reservation of rental vehicles.
By submitting a reservation, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
02Vehicle Reservations
Customers can use our website to select a vehicle, choose pick-up and return locations, specify rental dates and times, review the rental price and submit a reservation.
All reservations are subject to vehicle availability, driver eligibility and confirmation by PHENIX Car Rentals.
Submitting a reservation does not automatically guarantee that the requested vehicle is available. A reservation becomes confirmed when PHENIX Car Rentals issues written confirmation.
03Customer Information
To process a reservation and prepare the rental agreement, we may require:
- First and last name.
- Email address and telephone number.
- Residential or postal address.
- Pick-up and return details.
- Driver's date of birth, where required.
- Driving licence number, issuing country, issue date and expiry date, where required.
- Additional driver information, where applicable.
Customers must provide accurate and current information. Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
04Driver Eligibility and Documentation
Drivers must be aged 23 to 73 and have held a full driving licence for at least 3 years.
Before collecting the vehicle, the main driver and any authorised additional drivers must present a valid driving licence and an acceptable identity document.
An International Driving Permit or additional documentation may be required depending on the issuing country and applicable legal requirements.
PHENIX Car Rentals may refuse to release a vehicle where the required documents are missing, invalid or do not meet the disclosed rental conditions.
05Rental Prices and Payments
The total rental price, including applicable taxes and compulsory insurance, will be displayed before the customer completes the reservation.
Optional services and additional charges must be clearly identified before they are accepted.
Payment methods, payment deadlines and any advance payment requirements will be communicated during the reservation process or in the booking confirmation.
No undisclosed mandatory charges will be added to the agreed rental price.
06Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit may be required depending on the vehicle category and the applicable rental conditions.
The deposit amount, accepted payment method and applicable conditions will be disclosed before the reservation is confirmed.
The deposit may be used to cover documented charges for which the customer is responsible under the rental agreement, including damage, missing equipment or other applicable liabilities.
Any remaining balance will be released or refunded in accordance with the agreed rental conditions. The time required for a bank to make released funds available may vary.
07Insurance and Excess
Rental vehicles are provided with the compulsory motor insurance required under applicable Cyprus law.
The insurance coverage, exclusions and any applicable excess (the amount for which the renter remains financially responsible) will be explained before the rental agreement is signed.
Additional insurance or excess-reduction options, where available, may be subject to separate conditions and charges.
Insurance does not automatically remove the renter's responsibility for every type of loss, damage or contractual breach.
08Vehicle Collection and Return
Vehicles must be collected and returned at the agreed locations, dates and times.
The customer must inspect the vehicle at collection and ensure that any existing damage is recorded.
The vehicle must be returned in accordance with the fuel, mileage, cleanliness and other conditions specified in the rental agreement.
Any late return, extension or change of return location must be agreed with PHENIX Car Rentals in advance. Applicable charges will be governed by the disclosed rental terms.
09Changes and Cancellations
Customers wishing to change or cancel a reservation should contact PHENIX Car Rentals using the contact details provided in their booking confirmation.
The applicable cancellation deadlines, charges and refund conditions will be communicated before booking confirmation.
Any refund due will be processed in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy and payment method.
Under EU consumer law, the general 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to car rental services booked for a specific date or rental period. This does not affect any cancellation rights expressly offered by PHENIX Car Rentals or any mandatory statutory rights.
10Vehicle Availability
We make reasonable efforts to provide the vehicle selected by the customer.
If the reserved vehicle becomes unavailable, we will inform the customer and offer an appropriate alternative where possible.
Any substitution, price difference or refund will be discussed with the customer before the alternative is accepted. If we cannot provide the agreed rental service or an acceptable alternative, applicable prepaid amounts will be refunded without prejudice to the customer's statutory rights.
11Rental Agreement
The reservation confirmation and the vehicle rental agreement are related but distinct documents.
Before the vehicle is released, the customer may be required to sign a rental agreement containing the specific vehicle details, authorised drivers, insurance coverage, excess, deposit, fuel policy, rental period and other applicable conditions.
Any additional terms must be disclosed to the customer before acceptance. The rental agreement cannot remove mandatory consumer rights or retroactively introduce undisclosed charges.
12Customer Responsibilities
The customer must operate the vehicle lawfully, responsibly and in accordance with the rental agreement.
Only authorised drivers may operate the vehicle.
The customer must promptly notify PHENIX Car Rentals of accidents, theft, vehicle damage, breakdowns or other significant incidents and follow reasonable reporting procedures.
Liability for damage, fines, loss or other costs will be determined by the rental agreement and applicable law.
13Liability and Consumer Rights
PHENIX Car Rentals is responsible for providing its services with reasonable care and in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, or restricts the customer's mandatory consumer rights.
14Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply.
Customers are encouraged to contact PHENIX Car Rentals first to seek a fair resolution of any complaint.
Disputes will be dealt with by the competent courts or other legally available dispute-resolution bodies, subject to applicable consumer jurisdiction rules.
